Face Fillers

Face fillers are injectable substances that are used to add volume and restore a more youthful appearance to the face. The most common fillers are hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, which are made from a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to hydrate and plump the skin. Other fillers include poly-L-lactic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA).

During the procedure, the filler is injected under the skin using a thin needle. The injection sites are typically numbed beforehand to minimize discomfort. Once the filler is injected, it immediately adds volume and smooths out wrinkles, lines, and folds. The results are often visible immediately and can last for several months to a year or more, depending on the type of filler used.

Fillers can be used to address a variety of cosmetic concerns, including:

Fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, nose, and forehead

Hollows or sunken areas on the cheeks or under the eyes

Thin or uneven lips

Scars or other skin irregularities

While face fillers are generally considered safe, there are risks and potential side effects associated with the procedure, such as bruising, swelling, and infection. It is important to consult with a qualified medical professional before undergoing any cosmetic procedure to ensure that it is appropriate for you and to discuss the potential risks and benefits.
